Development Plan

Long Term Over-View

Mrs Tooth will be over-seeing the school's P.E. curriculum with class teachers taking responsibility for delivering their own class' sessions.  The children will have two hours a week physical activity, which includes their swimming session at Strode Pool in Street.

In April 2013, the Government announced new funding for P.E and Sport. The purpose of the funding is to improve the quality and breadth of P.E and sports provision. Our Impact Report shows how the money we receive was used and the impact it had on our children in the academic year 2017-2018.

Children in Need Sponsored Sportathon

On Thursday 15th November the whole school took part in a sponsored sportathon to raise money for Children in Need. They worked in their teams to complete four sporty activities, with the focus of each activity being teamwork! Well done to Lubborn Lane who were the winning team.

TLE Sports Coaching

The children are very lucky to have one of their weekly PE lessons being delivered by Gemma from TLE Sports Coaching. This half term the children are focusing on DANCE.

Sportshall Athletics Tournament - 25th October @ Wells Cathedral School

Mrs McDonnell, Mrs Carey-Say and a whole host of volunteer parents took 2 teams to Wells Cathedral School to take part in the Sportshall Athletics Tournament. This was a great opportunity for lots of our children to get involved in competing for our school (23 children in total!). Considering that we were competing against big schools with whole teams of Year 6 children, and our teams ranged from Year 3 - Year 6, all of the children put 100% effort into their events and produced amazing results! There were 8 teams competing in total and our girls team came 6th overall, and our boys team came 7th overall. This meant that as a whole we came 7th overall. A huge well done to everyone that took part!

Small Schools Football Tournament - 27th September @ Strode College

A team of boys from Year 2 - 5 went to Strode to take part in the Small Schools Football Tournament. The team played well, supporting each other, and maintaining a good attitude throughout. They played 3 games and although we didn't win any, it was a valuable experience which the boys all enjoyed. Our football coach, Dan, couldn't choose just one 'Man of the Match' so instead we had two 'Men of the Matches'. This title was awarded to Freddie and Harry B. A special mention must also be made to the captain on the day, Harry F, who led the team superbly, leading by example with his strong tackling and never-say-die attitude, and high levels of sportsmanship in his leading the three cheers at the end of each game.

Well done to our boys!!!
