Throughout this month, we have been tackling one question in our linked experience – “Should we still commemorate D-Day 80 years later?” – We were lucky enough to have some special visitors come in to the school with their World War 2 Willies Jeeps as well as a few various artifacts from the First World War and the Second World War. History is only as alive as the things you can see and touch right in front of your eyes. Having the opportunity for the children to get into an actual vehicle that was present during the D-Day landings and hold these special specimens; they won’t soon forget it!
