Russet – We are Learners

Russet – We are Learners

We’ve continued our geography learning journey by exploring the question: “Why has the rate of immigration slowly increased in the UK?” The children have been developing a deeper understanding of immigration and its impact, as we work towards our final outcome – writing thoughtful letters to the Prime Minister!

In maths, Year 4 have been working hard to master telling the time, focusing on converting between analogue and digital formats, as well as switching between the 12-hour and 24-hour clocks. Meanwhile, Year 5 have been developing their geometry skills by measuring angles up to 180 degrees, and calculating angles around a point, on a straight line, and within shapes.

They have also been very practical this half term! We have been learning about angles and how to properly use a 180 degree and 360 degree protractor. One of the few times the children have gotten to draw on the tables, but they enjoyed it so much, I may let them do it even more!

We’re also buzzing with excitement as we rehearse for The Lion King production! Russet Class are proud to be supporting Year 6 with our singing, and we’ve been practicing lots of songs to make the performance truly special.

Russet have also had wonderful forest school session this half term! Learning about the story of The Green Man and created their own out of clay and natural materials.
