Lambrook Class

Hello and a very warm welcome to Lambrook Class!

We are a lovely mixed Reception and Year One class with 15 children taught by Miss Carr. Our teaching and learning assistant is Mrs Henson.

Learning through play

In Lambrook we are passionate about learning through PLAY. We aim to create a fun, caring and nurturing environment that allows children to build positive relationships with the adults and their peers. Our early years curriculum offers a balance between child led-learning and adult led opportunities, which inspire and ignite children’s imaginations in order to reach their full potential. We pride ourselves on supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, building their confidence and giving them the best possible start to their journey at Baltonsborough school.

Phonics

We do daily Phonics sessions following the Read Write Inc programme. Once children have learnt a range of sounds and are beginning to blend, they will take home a book. Please try to read with your child every day or at least four times a week. Please sign and date their reading record or write a comment. Your child will make more progress if you read with them at home.

Maths

We follow the Mastering Number and White Rose Maths programmes which aim to strengthen children’s understanding of number and fluency with number facts, as well as provide lots of opportunities for hands-on activities that showcases maths in the real-world!

If you have any questions, please do catch us on the gate at the start and end of the day and we will do our best to answer them.

We look forward to seeing you!
